Cheema’s winter fitness programs main goal is to broaden the Cheema sense of community and have fun while improving fitness and health.  It is designed for canoers, kayakers, stand up paddlers, war canoers, surf skiers and dragon boaters.  General fitness enthusiasts are also welcome.  It’s a great way to meet new people and stay active.  

The program starts after the paddling season officially ends, November 1st and runs until April 30th.  This adult offering consists of 3 workouts per week, with an emphasis on full body, circuit style weight training.  

Participants are coached in proper lifting technique and safe form/posture to prevent injuries.  As well as weight training, cardio training in the form of rowing sessions are also included.  Sessions are approximately one hour 15 minutes in duration and offer an efficient, intense workout (scalable to the right level of participants) with an emphasis on gaining specific strength and cardiovascular conditioning for water sports as well as cross training for other sports.  
 

Day Time Schedule

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 10:45  NOTE - there is flexibility if you cannot make your usual daytime session to switch to an evening session as a make-up

Evening Schedule

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 7:45   NOTE - there is flexibility if you cannot make your usual evening session to switch to a daytime session as a make-up

Full Group

Saturday - 7:00 am to 8:15 and group runs at 8:30
