Candidates for Commodore
Andrew Koch
I’d like to take a few lines to introduce myself. My name is Andrew Koch and I have offered my name for the position of Commodore.
I have been associated with the club since 2013, when my two sons Mason and Matthew took up the sport. I became involved in paddling long before 2013 though, as my brothers and I spent many summers paddling at Senobe when we were growing up. I grew to love the sport then as an athlete, but I love it even more now as a parent of paddlers.
I have seen my boys and their peers progress from the early years of Summer Program, into the High-Performance stream.
For the last year, I served on the board as Vice Commodore. In that time, I’ve seen what it takes for a club like Cheema to operate. I feel I am ready, with the support of a strong board, to move up to the role of Commodore.
We have a great club, and I’m excited by the opportunity to help make it even better.

Joan Smith
I have been involved with Cheema as a paddler for the past nine years and have held several volunteer positions on the board during this time, communications chair, registrar, and facilities chair. I am the current facilities chair and for the last 8 months have also taken on the role as assistant to the treasurer.
The outgoing treasurer has nominated me for this position and I thank her for having the confidence in me to fulfill this roll. I have a strong understanding of the requirements of a smal not for profit business no only from my time on the board but aslo because of time spent working as an office manager for a small local company using the same accounting software used by our current treasurer. I also have 15 years experience in automotice finance so I can assure a full understanding of processes and procedures as they pertain to best practices.

Candidates for Fundraising Chair
Nadine Antle Lamontange
I am the VERY proud mom of Nick Burgers-Lamontagne who recently started his third year of sprint canoe. Cheema has become a 'way of life' in our home and I would like to contribute to the growth and development of the club with my time and skills. I'm pleased to put my name forward for the position of Fund Raising Chair on the Cheema Board of Directors.
My background lends itself perfectly to this position. Allow me to elaborate...
I was the Director of Development & Marketing for the MS Society, Atlantic Division for five years and was accountable for $500,000 in annual revenue generation.
In my current position as the Regional Manager of Marketing and Communications for CBC in Atlantic Canada, I am responsible for the development and implementation of the fund raising and marketing strategy that raises close to $1 million annually for food banks and hospitals in the Atlantic region.
In 2015, I was a volunteer fund raiser and participant in Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Power Team-Team in Training program.
As the Fund Raising Chair for Cheema, I would like to use my skills to expand the club's case for monetary support (ie. video, social media fund raising, donor recognition tools). As well, I would like to collaborate with the Cheema membership to seek corporate and foundation donation opportunities and execute the well established (and successful) annual fund raising events.
I hope I can count on your vote of confidence.
